Day 7 - Kirkby Stephen to Keld - 11 miles

Day 7 - Stage 1
Stage 1 - Kirkby Stephen to Nine Standards

A good steep ascent of over 1500ft over 4 miles. This is the second time along the coast to coast route that a 2000ft peak will be reached.  Towards the end of this stage the walk enters the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Day 7 - Stage 2
Stage 2 - Nine Standards to Keld

Reaching the Nine Standards marks a milestone in the walk. Once over the peak, the walk is with the flow of water as it heads towards the east coast. The top of the Pennines is very marshy at almost any time of year. My route describes to Blue route that should be used August / November.
