Training
Attempting to walk 190 miles in consecutive days requires a certain level of fitness. Although I have completed many strenuous 2-day walks I have never undertaken such a long distance multi-day walk such as the Coast to Coast.
July 2009
A combination of bike riding and some higher mileage walks. On the 27th July I have started to walk stretches of the MacMillan Way, a waymakrded walk spanning 290 miles from Lincolnshire to Bristol.

Training has started! I normally try to go on a 12/15 mile off road bike ride at least a couple of times a month. However, to start to build up fitness I am now starting to do a weekly ride and on some weekends will be doing two 12 mile rides on consecutive days. For bad weather weekends, my wife has also managed to obtain an exercise bike so that I have no excuses.
